A NOTE FROM CHRIS...

My name is Chris Kelly, developer of FishingandFinances.com. The site's purpose is to provide a foundation and basic knowledge of a variety of financial matters that could really help those involved in the sport fishing industry. In addition to providing what I think will be some pretty worthwhile reading, I'm offering crew, captains and boat owners access to myself and staff for a complimentary consultation where you can ask questions, gain insight and start putting a plan together for your future. While the information you read on this website is meant to be educational and general in nature, if you get in touch with us personally, we can get a better grasp of your current situation and what financial goals you'd liked to accomplish.
Why am I providing this service, you ask? I grew up in Ocean City, Maryland, which was a great place to grow up. I was fortunate to have the pleasure in my younger years going white marlin fishing and spending lots of time on the water. My first ever mate's job was in 1984 on a 52-foot Whiticar named Bluewater. The sport fishing industry was, and still is, filled with an awesome group of folks who have a special love for the ocean. And even though it's been over 20 years since I ran a sport fishing boat, I truly miss the comradery, the pranks, and most of all, the competition.
Since my Ocean City Days, I got married, raised two beautiful children and was lucky enough to build a successful asset management firm in South Florida. I realize that many of you have a great passion for fishing, but may have a difficult time planning for the future. Heck, it's hard for anyone to accomplish this. I understand the lifestyle, the time constraints and struggles captains and mates share; being away from home, long days tournament fishing and the stress of not knowing if the owner is going to sell the boat at any minute. I want to help alleviate some of that stress and uneasiness by helping you to take control of your finances.
My staff and I are here to provide the education and assistance those in your business may be seeking. So if you're interested in planning for your future, or need guidance to help you do so, we can help. Give me a call or shoot me an email, I'm looking forward to hearing from you.
All the best,
Chris
